  2. Ok - I'll be brave and go first!
I live in a coastal village called Par (near the Eden Project) in Cornwall. I have 2 children (6 and 12 years) and I am 35 years old. I like being outdoors (especially if it's sunny!). I am the art coordinator at my school and like doing creative things - which means I'm quite messy :D
I teach children who are 5 and 6 years old in a school with 400 children aged between 3 and 11 years. There are 14 classes in my school and we are a Church of England school.
We are very lucky to have beautiful school grounds with large fields, trees, a pond and an area for growing plants.
We are really looking forward to developing our links with all of you.

  4. HI friends,
Here I am....I was very busy before so I can write only now. I'm the oldest, I'm 47 years old. I teach English. It's my first year after a long experience in French. I work in a small school. I've 5 classes, kids are from 11 to 14 years old. It's a part in a bigger institute, there are other two schools like mine and they are larger. I like to keep in touch with people from foreigner countries. I did some etwinning projects and I found it very interesting. My hobbies are travelling, painting, dancing, horseriding and sailing.
    Waiting for your news.
    Bye

  5. Hello everyone,
I work like a French teacher in Constantza, a beautiful city in south-eastern of Romania. Our high school, I. N. Roman, was founded in 1990, when the main subjects covered were mechanics and fashion design, the students being prepared to work in the clothing industry after completing their studies. In fact, the name of the high school was chosen in 1995, and it belongs to a famous local lawyer, Ioan N. Roman, who also was the first mayor of Constanta, a famous person at the time, well-known and appreciated not only by his contemporaries, but also by his successors. There is also another institution in Constanta, the County Library, which was named after this famous lawyer.
At the beginning of the school year 2009, there are about 40 classes in our high school, from the elementary level, to the secondary and upper secondary levels. The students are prepared to work mainly in the textile industry after graduating, as technicians whose qualification is the maintenance of the sewing-machines and other industrial equipments, and also as fashion designers. There is also a small amount of students who are going to work in the computers field, as computer operators, after finishing their studies.

  7. yes, it is my turn now:) i am just half past twenty seven:) years old. i have married last summer, i mean ten months ago. i work as an English teacher at a primary-secondary school. my school is a general public school which has 400 students and 15 classes. they are at the age of 6-14. as far as i know, education system in our countries are all different and one of the most important contribution of this project will be having more knowledge about each other's education systems and social lifes. i am not working in my hometown now. my hometown is Capadoccia which is very famous for its Chimneys all around the world. maybe you have heard about it. the place that i work is a town, not a city centre. so it is a very lovely place, especially in summers with fresh air and clean water.
lastly, i am really very happy to know all of you. i hope we will have a good relationship and we will do the best project in Comenius ever done :) best wishes...

  8. I agree with Cinzia that we need to decide on our project, so I'm going to give my ideas. I don't mind if you have different ones though :)
My main idea is sharing stories:
This year all the children in our school (from 4-11years) have been learning how to tell stories. The children learn a story, using pictures and 'story maps'. Then they change (adapt) it and draw a new map. Finally they write the story. From start to finish it takes the children 3 weeks. It improves their understanding of the structure of a story (beginning, middle, end) and the exciting language they should include. The children have lots of ideas and have learnt the story.
I think it would be a great project to exchange our stories because it would help the children to learn their own culture's stories and also those of other cultures.
The only problem I see is how we make this project interesting for older children - unless they use their textile skills (Carmen's school) to present their stories or ICT (Cinzia's school)
But you may have a different idea that links us all in a better way :-)

  10. Hi everybody,
as I can see we have students of different ages: very interesting! Vicky's children could tell their stories about environmental problems. Like a fairy tale!!! Carmen has older ones, so they could examine it from another point of view, maybe more scientific. Yasin and me, we have more or less the same target so we could see how we look at this problem. I think it's nice to see how we deal with this situation in our countries. In our school students make projetcs to cooperate with the Town hall, we have a kind of Junior Major between our students and it represents the ideas of the others, face to the Main Major. During his campain he suggested environmental problems. Students are always very sensitive to this matter so I think it'll be a good solution. Of corse, if you want, we can change the subject of our project.
I see that we are very active so I'm very happy to work with all of you.
    Waiting for your news

  11. Cinzia, I love the idea of turning environmental issues into a fairy tale - we could have different endings - happy and sad. Our older children (age 9/10 years) already do a science topic about 'being green' so we could have a variety of ways which appeal to all ages.
